Customer Review :
Much improvement over the regular Solos : Monster Cable Beats Solo High-Definition On-Ear Headphones with Control Talk (Black)
These phones kick @$$! The sound quality is very clear although being a tad bass heavy, which i like. I've owned many other headphones in the 100+ range and these are the best ones that I've tried out. I tried these phones with mostly rock/metal/dance. I didn't try out the ControlTalk cable because that isn't a reason to buy headphones. Luckily, for those of you who do, there is also another high quality cable included. If you want to try them out and see for yourself, go to BestBuy and listen.
Style: 4/5 These are a glossy white, much like the latest gadgets out there. The quality is really nice and they don't show fingerprints barely at all. I liked the "b" on the sides and the overall style is really nice. The only thing i don't care for is the big logo on top. I like how thin they are and still maintain enough rigidity to not break. They don't give me the cheap feel.
Sound Quality: 5/5 When I tried these on in the store, I was blown away. The earpads are very soft and feel like they are suctioned to your ears. This in turn blocks most outside noise without the need for battery killing noise cancelling circuitry. I have no idea where others have thought that these sound worse than $30 headphones. I am able to pick apart the different instruments very easily unlike a pair of cheapos. If you listen to poor bit-rate music, these will show off the poor quality of the rip. The sound best when listening to quality recordings, like CDs or high bit-rate rips.
Comfort: 5/5 I've worn these for many hours with glasses on and they don't make my ears sweat or pinch my head like other phones. I have a large head and finding phones that can fit comfortably has beena chore. These fit like a glove.
Build: 4/5 These are a big upgrade compared to the Solo Beats. I feel that you could be a little rough with them and not have to worry too much about them. Of course these aren't meant for very rough handling, like children. I have seen a pair that has been destroyed by children and I tell tell you that they aren't metal all the way through the band. They are pretty flexible but don't be unreasonable. They also feature a removable cable. You can use any cable that you want. Just plug in and listen. The phones come with two cables, both the same length. Normal and the ControlTalk cable. The ControlTalk cable isn't compatible with my phone but, I don't use my phone as my main mp3 player.
tl:dr
Overall: These are great sounding headphones that are very comfortable. They aren't little kids' headphones but they can last. These are high quality and will sound high quality as long as you send them high quality music. Nothing is going to make your 128kbps bootleg sound good.
