I bought this case immediately after I bought my Macbook pro - I dislike wear and tear on any of my products, so buying cases or screen is a no-brainer for me. I've had the case on for as long as I had the macbook (about a year and a couple months), and I hadn't taken it off once. Apparently the instructions for the case asked you to clean it once a month, something I should have heeded: my case finally broke off from wear and tear, and removing the case, I was horrified to find all sorts of dust and dirt inside. In addition, I found several scratch marks on the bottom of the case, very noticeable, deep holes and bruises.
Obviously this is at least partly due to me not following the directions (the scratches were most likely caused by dust or dirt particles), and I'm not blaming the case completely in this. However, I personally purchase these sorts of products so I don't have to worry about taking care of my items, at least to a certain extent.
As such, I bought a thick sleeve to put my Macbook in instead. For the couple of months I've had it, it doesn't look worse, and it's more manegable.
